Blog Journal #10
Blog Journal #10 (Thank you Ginny, You rock!)
I think as teacher, especially one who has just started their career, it is important to get feedback from students on certain thing you do in the classroom. This way, you can improve for future students and understand why some thing do or do not work for students. I have noticed here at Florida State, that we have to participate in surveys the end of the semester which ask you questions bout the class and professor I think this is a great way to get an idea of what the students might think of the class overall. In my classroom, since I plan on doing early childhood education, I think that surveys can be used in subject areas like math to create data and bar graphs. I think it could also be used as a way to bring students together to establish their likes and dislikes, and also creating commonalities between students. It can be a great tool to help bring students with like minds together.
I have always loved to hear others opinons on different topics. I find it interesting to see my classmates' overall thoughts on some of the technologies that we have used and how they may use it in a different way than me. I find it useful to be able to connect with my classmates through our blogs and find similarities between ideas. I found the twitter blog posts and the web page design posts to be the most interesting of the blogs. It opened my eyes to new ways of viewing the applications that I probably wouldn't have thought of before.
After going to the technology sandbox I must say that I would love to learn more about the smart technologies and the different tools that can be used in the classroom with them. I think that smart technolgy is great, especially in a elementary classroom setting, because it can be very engaging for the students. I think that this technology has a lot of potential to help kids with all different academic needs become more involved and engaged in classroom lessons. I hope to take some free time to work more with the smart boards, and hopefully spend some more time in classrooms where this technology is used to get a better understanding of the types of lessons I would do using the smart technology is my own classroom.
