  • On the main page of the website there are flashing pictures of the students and other things that are in relation to the classroom. For parents, there is all of the teacher information and contact information on the home page as well. The main page also features a section that displays "important information". This is very helpful in keeping the parents in the loop in a easy to read, accessible way. Since it is a first grade classroom the site is directed more for parents and guardians to use rather than students. 
  • Being someone who struggled staying organized as a young girl, I really hope to make things clear for both the parents and students. I want parents to have easy access to important information and be updated on the things going on in the classroom. I will create an updated calendar and be sure to post about important events, homework, and other things going on in the classroom. For myself, I will defintiley use things like grade quick and other key things. I think that staying organized with my students and their families  will keep me organized as well.
  • First, I would like to say that I love the technology sandbox. I had never heard of it before but it's amazing. I tried to get as much experience as possible in the short time we were there and was able to test out all of the of the gadgets. I thought the two smart boards, which were touch screen and interactive, would be very useful in the classroom. During the demo our EME classed was asked to play an educational game using the smart board technology. The game was engaging, fun, and educational, which is everything I would want my students to feel about my classroom.

   The technology standards of today are important for not only the student, but the teacher as well. There is a much higher demand for technology literacy than ever before and with that educators are expected to meet certain technology based standards and have specific certifications. Since I struggled in school with learning how to read and had trouble staying focused, I understand that different students have different needs when it comes to learning. I want to give every student the opportunity to thrive and be successful in the classroom. I think the use of apps and the different technology is it a great way to be able to tend to students educational needs. ILP #2 "design"- Prezi

I have always loved how writing allows people to express themselves through creative language and is something I look forward to doing with my future students.  This presentation goes over some of the basic aspects of creative writing and includes tips, videos, pictures, and prompts to get students started on their own masterpieces.

ILP #1 Design- Digital Story Telling

http://zimmertwinsatschool.com/node/157196?designated=new I decided to make a digital story by using the Web 2.0 application, zimmer. This help give me the tools and guidance to create my own digital story, along with  "50 Ways to Tell a Story". The story is about a young boy, named Edgar and a young girl named Eva, who are best friends and share a book together. Edgar keeps the book in safe hiding but then realizes he lost it, only then to find it just in the nick of time before Eva comes, and they head to the park! This project was fun and allowed me to think creatively and use a tool that I had never used before!
